The Team

Keram Malicki-Sanchez

(Founding President, Producer, SEO and New Media Consultant)

In 1990, Keram founded Constant Change Productions, an independent record label, and new media company that still maintains an active online community 15 years later; a community that grew from its origins in the IRC chatrooms frequented by the administrators of Internex online (Canada’s first ISP) in the early 1990s. From 2000-2009, the “Freedom v2.5” community site created and moderated by Malicki-Sanchez was dedicated to Freedom of Information and searching for the truth by way of intelligent discussion on all topics. It was populated by “Sky Pirates” a name once used for fans of Malicki-Sánchez’s band Blue Dog Pict, but later for those who were most loyal to the Constant Change ethic.

While a student at Ryerson University in Toronto, in the first year of the University’s New Media program, he co-authored (with Lee Towndrow, a student in the radio and television program) one of the first-ever enhanced CDs released by a band: Spindly Light und Wax Rocketines, Blue Dog Pict’s third release, featured a MAC/PC compatible Myst-style video game about the legend of the Sky Pirates. Malicki-Sánchez worked directly with the CD manufacturer to create a method for putting the data on track 0 so that the listener could also just put the CD in their player and listen to music (considered an innovation at the time). The two later team up to work on “Snow Globe” a stereoscopic 360 virtual reality ASMR project that showcased at FIVARS and Kaleidoscope Virtual reality festivals, among others.

He released his solo acoustic album “Box” in 2008 to critical acclaim and follow up full-band album “Come to Life” executive produced by Alex Lifeson of RUSH.

Keram founded VRTO in spring 2015. He is also the editor-in-chief of IndieGameReviewer.com since 2008 and founder of FIVARS – the Festival of International Virtual and Augmented Reality Stories and executive director of the VRTO Virtual & Augmented Reality World Conference.

A graduate of UCLA’s certification programs in Cinematography, Producing and Digital Media, he is also an alumnus of Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School, was a student in Ryerson University’s inaugural New Media Studies program, business and creative consultant to a wide variety of tech companies, and has 30 years of experience as an actor in Hollywood. He has been invited to speak about the intersection of technology and the arts for the past 25 years and has been featured in Toronto Star, CBC, New Yorker, Forbes, and has spoken at ideacity, Digital Hollywood, NAB, CNE Innovation Garage, Cinegear Expo, Northeast (NXNE) music conference, TieCon (Ottawa), TechWeek (Toronto).

He most recently contributed essays to two books published in 2020: Dyscorpia: Future Intersections of the Body and Technology, Edited by Marilene Oliver and Daniel Laforest, Published by Dept of Art and Design, University of Alberta and Handbook of Research on the Global Impacts and Roles of Immersive Media (editors: Jacquelyn Ford Morie (All These Worlds, LLC, USA) and Kate McCallum (Bridge Arts Media, USA and Vortex Immersion Media, USA). In 2020 he composed the score for a TV movie for Lifetime Network about domestic violence called Sleeping With Danger.
